Susan

Susan wanted to get somephotos to document her pregnancy. She had not done them with her first pregnancy and now regrets it. So often women at the last stages of pregnancy feel ungainly, bloated and simply too tired to consider posing for photos. I did as well, and now regret it too!

The photos dont have to be printed on giant canvases to hang above the fireplace, they can be private, for you to reminisce about when your little one is all grown up.

Susan was thrilled the pics – this from her email,

“WOW! I so wish I had known you when I was pregnant with Jas also! Don”t know how you managed to still make me look yummy even though I am soooo ginormous! My husband is impressed also. Jas was very excited to see the results too. That idea with the ultrasound pic is definitely a winner! Now I have to decide which ones to get printed…. I want them all! Must look at your pics again to calm me down, you really have made me look very feminine and normal which I have not felt for a while… at least I”ll have these to remember being a yummy mummyforever.”

This first one is a spin on a very similar photo by Kris Leigh of Grow Photography - thanks Kris!

Spinny dresses at sunset

My girls love these dresses because they flare out so dramatically when they spin. Kyra calls it her ‘’spinny” dress and Lia has, of course, followed suit.

Today was such a warm golden afternoon. The air was dry and dusty and I”ve been meaning to take them out in the late afternoon sun for some time now but never seem to have gotten around to it. This evening after dinner I zipped them into their dresses and we went down to the gardens beside a local historic house.

It has been so hot and dry the grass was the colour of desert sand and crispy beneath our feet. Still, the sun was throwing beautiful buttery-yellow light though the trees, so they ran up and down between the rows till they were puffed. Lia lost one shoe in the middle of it all and it added that bit of fairytale magic when I whispered in her ear that she was obviously just like Cinderella at the ball – in a big beautiful dress having lost one shoe while running. The beaming smile through the crocodile tears made me laugh out loud – such simple pleasures.

ABA Breastfeeding Helpline

The Australian Breastfeeding Association asked me to shoot an image of one of my past clients to use in an upcoming marketing campaign for their new Breastfeedig Helpline. Jo and her gorgeous girl Jaylene were only too happy to help! It has come down to these two final images. Will post more as soon as I know how, when and where you will see her!

Jaylene

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Stan, Jo and their baby girl Jaylene. Jo and Jaylene were also posing for some design work I am currently undertaking for the Australian Breastfeeding Association so check back for more about that!

In the interim – here are some of my favourites from the day…

Ellie

Today I got to meet and photograph a gorgeous mother-daughter duo – Kylie and Ellie. Once Ellie warmed up to me, we had a heap of fun.

She showed me around her room and we had a mini tea party with her wooden cupcakes on a stand. Kylie had taken the time to prepare a number of outfit changes and we even went down to her local park for some shots. I had an absolute blast and the one of Ellie and Kylie walking hand in hand through the park is one of my favourites.

This from Kylie via email:

Thank you so much for everything! The photo’’s are absolutely Gorgeous, I couldn”t have asked for anything else! All my friends and family love them. You were such a pleasure to deal with also, very easy going, friendly and very professional aswell.  Everything was so easy, from the photo shoot to your website viewing the photo’’s and having the time to select which ones and even delivering them for me! There was never any pressure it was just great.”

Happy Birthday Previn

My baby brother turned 30 today.

So a few members of our family drove to Windsor for fish an chips for one of the many celebrations. We all sat on the riverbank while the sun set around us and then afterward, dabbled our feet in the cool river and let the dusk descend. When it got too dark and the mosquitoes too ferocious, we trekked up the steep sandy bank, loaded into the cars and wound our way back home.

A new year, a new beginning

After a very long time, I managed to get myself organised and take the girls for lunch at their godmother Kasia’s place. The other GM Carla was in attendance as well and much fun was had watching the new Tinkerbell movie.

While I was there, I took the time to play with Kasia’s L-series lenses. Lia refused to cooperate much, so here are some of the shots of Kyra, beautiful and sharp.

And Lia copying everything I do as usual, and directing everyone around so she could shoot with her camera.
