Head in the Clouds Photography

I was contacted to do an advert for a magazine by Kate Ellis from Head in the Clouds Photography. It’s always easy to design around such an established brand and style. Kate provided some really great shots to work with (a designers dream!) and was decisive and clear on her target market, which made it easy to produce the ad within the brief and we made the magazine deadline – yay!

Birthday presents

Lia scored a whole heap of presents for her birthday and a couple of really super cute outfits from Aunty C and Aunty K. At their request – we had a bit of a mini shoot in the new clothes today and of course one giant twirly coloured lollipop! Of course Kyra had to get in on the action and try on the jacket as well…

Happy 3rd Birthday Lia!

Every year my mum and i put our heads together and try to beat the birthday cake from the year before. This year, Lia wanted a Dora cake. Thank goodness for last years ‘fairy princess’ cake, mum had purchased a Dolly Varden cake pan by Wilton.  It came in very handy this year and I was pretty happy with the results!

The new haircut (disaster)

This morning I thought Lia was sleeping in as she hadn’t risen at her usual time. It was only until Kyra came to tell me she’d found hair in the bathroom that the drama started to unfold. Lia had gotten Kyra’s craft scissors and these were the results…

Needless to say we ended up the the hairdressers trying to fix it and she ended up with a bit of a Dora look, and a severe undercut on the left side.

New white backdrop

I finally took the plunge and purchased a giant white backdrop. I dont often do staged studio-style shoots with my girls, but the white backdrop was crying to be given a whirl.

Today they had decided to dress up as fairies, so All we added were some balloons from the Royal Easter Show and had a bit of fun. Lia ws very grumpy and the only way I could get her into it was to ask her to yell ‘banana pants’ at me repeatedly. Those of you who are familiar with Dora the Explorer will know where that phrase comes from. It’s a sure fire way to get a big cheesy grin in our house.
