Adori Studios

Robeccer McLean from Adori Studios wanted me to help her design a pricing booklet that would accomodate both her standard AND destination wedding packages. I used her existing logo (not designed by me) and colours to come up with a sophisticated look and feel for the material that could carry through to her promotions and advertising.

In the course of designing her booklet, I realised I wanted a floral texture to use in the booklet as the logo is a floral and I wanted to carry this through. I ended up with a fair few background patterns and margins that I used through the booklet. I also sent them to Robeccer to use as she saw fit. Yesterday I got SUCH a suprise in the mail when I realised she had cleverly had the logo pattern printed onto ribbon to use in her packaging. I’ve never even seen that before and I was just blown away and soooo excited to see it.

I would have thought that a logo as fine and delicate as that wouldn’t print well onto fabric, but boy was I wrong! The print is clear, sharp and doesn’t come off easily at all. Well done Bec – you’ve managed to surprise me! Bec sent the samples in her cute little handbag box with silver foil sticker (I didn’t design those though) and it all looks great together.

Inside was the pricing booklet, the slip card of optional extras as well as a flyer for her Crazy Station. I must say her imagery was an absolute joy to work with and her photographs make my designs look good! Photos of the pieces below – I hope I’ve done them justice Robeccer! It’s all come up so well in the end.

Heartfelt Images

Hayley Justice from Heartfelt Images asked me to come up with a new logo and style for her newly revamped photography business. Hayley’s brief was simple, but also challenging at the same time. She wanted something that related to her business, but wasn’t overtly a heart shape. She wanted something unexpected, clever and memorable. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t hit the nail on the head with the first few concepts I sent her, but she was patient while we refined the brief and I knuckled down.

We were both really pleased with the final logo. The two sides of the heart have been created to suggest two people and can be interpreted as a mother and child or even a husband and wife. The icon is also really transportable and quite flexible as well. In the future she may choose to laser cut it, or embroider it, or …whatever she likes! Hayley, I had fun with this project – thanks for being such a great collaborator and trusting me with the outcomes!

Studio 146

Followers of this blog may remember a logo I developed last year for Sharon’s Books. Sharon recently purchased a new business – a hair studio! She came back to me to help rebrand the business as a stylish, upmarket brand. The naming of the business was new for me as usually clients have already decided this before they engage me. It was fun to throw around names and brainstorm with Sharon. The project was very quick from start to finish as we had to make certain deadlines for signage production and moving in! But we made it in time – and here it is!

Jodie Lee Photography

Jodie Lee approached me to help her design a brand for her photography business, Jodie Lee Photography. Initially her brief for the logo included a brand that would encompass her wedding business as well, however this changed during the project. This meant we were free to do a more childlike and whimsical interpretation which Jodie was quite keen on. Jodie was sold on the idea of  brightly coloured lollypops. I intially resisted the idea as I thought these would make quite a generic logo and nothing that was uniquely about her business – this is somethign I strive to achieve with each branding project.

After much brainstorming I came up with a way to execute it that would allow Jodie her lollies and would allow me to be true to my design process as well. I was able to incorporate Jodie’s initials into the lollypops, making them look like random swirls. I then simplified the lollypops into circles for the main logo and kept the lollies as a supporting brand element. One supporting element is not nearly enough so I then added logo balloons and a couple of logo flowers as well. And here they are…

Netra has been amazing to work with and I have absolutely no hesitations in recommending her to anyone who is after any type of graphic work done, whether big or small. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for me, and then some! I couldn’t imagine having such personalised service if I were to have used someone else to do all this for me – it was like working with my best friend.

Indulge by NFE Design

Renee Bell from NFE Design spoke to me a while ago about launching her new boudoir brand which she was calling ‘Indulge’. This was a fun brief to work with as Renee wanted to use some of the gritty urban look she is well known for in combination with a more sexy luxurious feel. It was challenging to try to express two such disparate concepts visually in the one brand and still make them work.

And so, Indulge was born…

The look translated easily to business cards and across to the Indulge website as well. Congrats Renee and apologies for taking so long to blog it!
