About

Netra Chetty is a designer and photographer based in Sydney. She is mum to two gorgeous girls and works from her home office in the western suburbs of Sydney.

Born in South Africa, she and her family moved to Sydney to escape the continuing turmoil and unrest of the Apartheid era. Netra finished school in Sydney and went on to UNSW’s prestigious College of Fine Art, where she graduated from the Bachelor of Design degree in 1997.

Netra then worked at Kinko’s as Digital Services Manager, before  meeting her husband online and moving to Canada and helping launch the Kinko’s store at Yonge and St Clair in Toronto. Moving back to Sydney in 2000, she worked at Amfac and then at Sydney IVF within their respective marketing departments before being asked by UNSW in 2002 to accept the position of Creative Director of The Fridge, an in-house design studio integrated within the Bachelor of Design.

After a few years, and one baby girl later, Netra decided to take a step back from the pace of a Creative Director role and accepted a position with FujiXerox Global Services as designer at their AstraZeneca site. Within 2 years Netra found herself in the position of Site Manager and then later went on to accept the role of Creative Services Account Director for FXGS.

At the start of 2009, with her first daughter about to start kindergarten, Netra decided to resign from her position at FXGS and set up her own business to focus more in photography. In doing so, she has revitalised her love of design and now both aspects together form part of Netra’s unique service offering.
