Why select a professional photographer?
With the introduction of newer, faster, more simple cameras, everyone these days seems to be touting themselves as a photographer. As a professional photographer, Netra brings her years of experience in photography and design to bear in your photos. She carefully considers composition, lighting, angles and makes her equipment work to produce the vision in her mind’s eye. Anyone can set a camera to auto and ‘point and shoot’ – however it takes a professaional to craft a memorable image. After the session Netra further enhances the images in computer, giving you a final polished result you can cherish for years to come.
Can I have my photos on disc to print out myself?
Custom Portraiture: Netra no longer offers digital files of family portrait sessions on disc. Netra goes to a great deal of effort to ensure images are printed via professional photo labs who specialise in commercial photographic printing, whose equipment is calibrated and who treat the prints as she would. To ensure that your photos are reproduced at their very best for you, Netra prefers to manage the printing herself.
Commercial: For commercial applications, where the photos may be used in future collateral or as an image bank, release of the digital files can be part of the negotiated contract and included in the estimated costs.
How does it all work?
Custom Portraiture: Netra prefers to photograph your family in the comfort of your own home. She finds that children relax in their own environment and their true personality shines through. If you prefer, you can select an alternative location such as a park or beach nearby. Netra will spend some time chatting with you and your family about what you wish to achieve and will then spend some time locating the areas in your home with the best light. Netra uses natural light as much as possible, but will sometimes reach for her flash when needed. After the session, your images are uploaded to a private gallery and you are asked to place your order within 2 weeks. All print orders require upfront payment before printing can commence.

I have a spot/scar/blemish – can you remove it?
In short, yes. However consider that a spot, or mole can be a unique feature and you may look strange to your friends and family without it! It may very well be your signature or trademark and sometimes it is a shame to remove them.
I don’t like my chin/ears/arms – can you fix it?
Yes, within reason. While Netra is more than happy to use her retouching skills to trim a few unwanted kilos, or tone up those arms, it is suggested that the enhancing be subtle. The aim is not to create a glamour cover shot, rather to minimise or reduce the appearance of your perceived trouble areas.
