Practical Handbook of Australian Raptor Rehabilitation was developed for Avifauna Veterinarian as a comprehensive educational and reference publication supporting wildlife carers, veterinary professionals and rehabilitation organisations across Australia.
Spanning more than 250 pages of highly detailed scientific and procedural information, the project required the development of an extensive information hierarchy and navigation framework capable of making dense technical content accessible, intuitive and usable for a broad
audience with varying levels of expertise.

A major focus of the design approach was creating an “invisible” on-page navigation system — establishing consistent visual structures, chapter frameworks, typographic hierarchy, colour coding, diagrams, tables and reference systems that allowed users to navigate large volumes of information quickly and efficiently without overwhelming the page visually.

The publication integrated:

• technical diagrams and reference material
• educational and behavioural content
• extensive cross-referencing structures

The project required balancing clarity, accessibility and usability while maintaining the credibility and authority expected of a professional scientific publication.
